Bet Tzedek provides free legal representation to those who cannot otherwise afford counsel. In its 25 year history, Bet Tzedek has helped more than 90,000 families and individuals who had nowhere else to turn. Each year, assistance is provided to more than 10,000 people of every racial and religious background at the Fairfax and West Hollywood offices and at 30 senior centers throughout Los Angeles County.

Bet Tzedek's Innovative Services Include:

Bet Tzedek does not handle criminal defense, immigration, divorce, or cases private attorneys would accept on contingency. Legal assistance includes counseling and representation at trials, administrative hearings and appeals.

Eligibility for Services

The first priority for service is given to persons in greatest economic need. Bet Tzedek must inquire about income and resources. All information is kept strictly confidential.

Defending the rights of the poor and elderly, affirming their dignity, and protecting their security -- This is the meaning of justice, and the commitment of all those who are part of the Bet Tzedek family.
