For Caregivers
|
You are not alone!
Many resources are available to assist you in taking care of a loved
one. |
The Multipurpose Senior
Center (MSC) in your area is your primary source of
assistance for:
Care management
Senior services
Caregiver support group
Home care referrals
Housing search & referrals
Local long term care referrals
Applying for benefits
Adult Day Services
Respite care
The Multipurpose Senior Centers (MSCs) are selected and funded by the City or the
County Department of Aging. They provide comprehensive services to seniors and
their families. These community-based agencies have the resources and
expertise to assess the needs of seniors and can assist you in designing a
care plan for your loved one.
If you are trying to solve a problem, the MSC Case Manager is an expert
who has probably encountered a similar situation before.
Because the MSCs are community-based, they are familiar with the local
agencies serving seniors. MSCs usually do not have commercial ties and may
give you a sincere referral based on their experience with the agency
involved.
