The International Institute of Los Angeles was founded in 1914 and now provides a comprehensive array of social services in 18 languages to approximately 20,000 people annually. The Senior Services Division of the International Institute has been providing quality services to elderly members of Los Angeles' eastside since March, 1974. A broad spectrum of services are offered to meet ever changing needs in the diverse community of the 14th Council District. Although the majority of the residents in the service area are Hispanic, the community includes many other ethnic groups and cultures. The division is aided in its role by an active, voluntary Advisory Council comprised of program participants as well as business and community leaders. Senior Services are funded in part by the City of Los Angeles
Department of Aging using federal funds from the Older Americans Act, by
client donations and the generous donations of others. IILA is a
non-profit United Way agency. Case management & Social ServicesAssistance to frail or disabled seniors in arranging, maintaining and monitoring needed services to help them remain in their homes, safely and comfortably: Dining Centers & Nutritious MealsSeniors can enjoy hot, nutritious meals for a nominal, suggested donation at ten dining centers:
Hot, nutritious home-delivered meals
are also provided to home-bound seniors (individuals who are not able to
